Bob Rae's first Minster of Consumer and
Commercial Relations Peter Kormos was quickly tossed out of cabinet after
he posed for the Toronto Sun as a Sunshine Boy. The Sunshine Boy was
the male counter part to the daily Page Three feature on anatomically elite
females in the GTA who all seemed to share the same common interest of
"kicking back and relaxing on weekends".
Interestingly enough, Kormos was about
to launch a campaign to get beer companies to clean up their advertising
act. Kormos felt that beer companies used too many bikini-clad women in
exploitive ways. Yet, here he was, seemingly supporting that sort of thing.
Who knew only a few years later Justice Minister Kim Campbell would pose
for a more revealing
photo and then become Canada's fist female Prime Minister.
